Secondary schools and sixth form colleges

Honley High School is a 20-minute walk away from Fisher Green. The school, which has 1,200 students aged 11 - 16, was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in 2015. In 2016, 75% of students achieved 5 A* - C grades at GCSE.

Greenhead College is located in the centre of Huddersfield, just 4.5 miles from Fisher Green. The college has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and in 2017, the overall A-Level pass rate was 99.4% with over 1,000 students achieving a pass in 3 or more subjects.

For dining out in Honley, the bistro Mustard & Punch is a popular choice. Holmfirth is also home to a wide variety of restaurants such as Mezze and The Whippet & Pickle, as well as a range of fantastic local pubs.

The short trips into Leeds, Sheffield or Manchester will also lead to you to the theatres, music venues, museums and art galleries that the cities have to offer. However, you can find Holmfirth Picturedrome and the Lawrence Batley Theatre a little closer to home.
